Started to use MS Word - Notebook feature (mac only) or regular page on a PC. On a PC, links can be made to other pages in the document.
One goal to make a more professional looking document
Document is already set up and downloaded from Mary's website.
Scoring Guide is included in the journal itself.
Scoring Guide - based on points - each time 20 points and is graded each time.
No excuse words list - words they cannot ever misspell. List available on website and paper copies.
Block Schedule - journals are done in class.
Grapher - on all macs. Allows saving as a pdf, which can then be dropped into their journal.
Also can be used with TI ?
Making corrections - notebook does not use the Comment feature. To make corrections Mary changes the color of the text.
Journals are then dropped in the hand in folder and handed back to the students through the handback folder.
New journals are copied and pasted into their current journal so the journal builds.
Math Type is used to give things a more professional look to documents. Very little training on Math Type was needed. Math Type is a pay-for program but site licenses are available.
Possible - highlight key words.
Three journals each marking period - 6 for the course/semester.
